Thank you for this analysis. I predict a strong verdict against the Democratic Party in November, no matter who is on top of the ticket. It will not be specific policy issues so much as it will be this entire cover-up, which reeks of abject disregard for the People.
Give credit where it’s due. The WSJ had the courage to pry open the subject of the President’s cognitive decline when no one (outside of Substack) would do so. They are far and away America’s premier MSM publication.
Great analyst as always, 🙇 The arrogance of the left wing elites has no limits , they are all camped in the “Versailles Hamptons “ deciding what to tell the masses , what is good for them , and who they should vote for . , and spending the next month finding the alternative to Kamala
However , enough is enough , it’s time for change in America and time for ‘ serious people ‘ like the Hoover Institute to advise the incoming populist leader how to govern , but make no mistake this time people will vote seeing both candidates a lot more clearly . This is a moment to reverse a generational decline from a world of “ hand outs “to a world that gives you a “hand up “, god bless the idea of democracy started by the Magna Carta and god bless the USA !! 🇺🇸, and uk 🇬🇧
Excellent. I don’t think the liberal media can have an honest discussion of their attempts to cover for Biden for one main reason: they believe their position is the morally correct one (i.e. defeat Trump) and therefore to gaslight, ignore, and distort is what SHOULD be done under the circumstances. Getting them to question their own moral high ground is what is difficult if not impossible. For example, given the givens, I don’t think a figure like Joe Scar. is “questioning” anything about his public performance at this point.
And by the way, I don’t think Kamala will pick her VP candidate. I think the Party elders, with the help of blessing of major donors, will hand her the name .
It is a scandal of the first order that what was obvious from before even Biden was elected has been covered up by the by political class not just in the US but all over the world and the media joined in the conspiracy. These clowns really do hate us.
In my country we watched the decline, the gaslighting with nightly examples of a demented old man who was supposedly the President of the US and the gobbledegook that emanated from Harris with the accompanying embarrassing cackles.
A shame that in such an interesting analysis I get upset by a non sequitur: "if a sitting President is not well enough to run for re-election, then he is not well enough to serve out the remaining six months", that might well be true for the current sitting President, but as a generic statement it seems quite obviously wrong. One can perfectly well notice that the battery is depleting while it still provides plenty of power to finish the term.
There are likely good reasons to think that Biden is unfit to serve for the reaming six months, unfortunately with this proclaimed generic rule, it was no longer necessary to explore these reasons.
I don’t agree that it is a non sequitur to say if he is not well enough to run for re-election he is not well enough to finish his current term. The underlying basis for the first posit is that he is not fit to assume the office in January, both physically and intellectually. Those same restrictions apply now as well.
The battery is now dead enough that it can’t power the drone.
No, the basis is that he is not fit enough for a second term, not just to assume office in January. Are you suggesting, any president should immediately resign if they come to the conclusion that they might no longer be fit enough to hold the office for another four and a half years?

I hope you’re right but I’m less convinced. Most people give little thought to politics and the MSM remains squarely in the Democratic camp.
Yes. "A generation of spineless liberal journalists" has yet to finish their work.
Yes, the amoral self-serving "spineless liberal journalists" are committed to their current anti-civilization views.
At least until enough voters wake up and see the Democrats' Kool-Aid (a la Jonestown) for what it is and stop buying it.

WSJ: Better late than never.

The next big tussles, as Ayan points out, will be a VP pick and whether Biden remains fit to serve. Lots of drama ahead.

Wonderful! 🤩 You are on a roll 🙏❤️
