Routh reminds me strongly of the so called "Qanon shaman" of the January 6 debacle. Someone who is visually striking, but something just doesn't add up about them grtting t theae momentsnof drama on their own without someone noticing. They obviously want the attention. They make easy scapegoats and targets for being "obviously mentally ill", but focusing on them obscures the more subtle and complex nature of these happenings.

To me, Routh is just another alienated white whack job. I want to know how he got an SKS in Florida. And why hasn’t he been charged with attempted assassination?

Route was a leftist nut job. He chose his course of action. We are not used to assassins targeting presidential candidates. It is a truly worrying development.

As further his misguided attempts in Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities did not want his help.

History shows why Russia invaded Ukraine. I don’t think it was right to do so but I understand from their history why it was dine. The US and Europe broke their word. Then the neocons got to work.

If America wants a war with Russia but none of the rest of us wants one and the Ukraine war should be ended.

History shows why Ukraine is resisting Russia, which has been invaded by Russia many times in the last 175 years. Russia murdered millions of Ukrainians during the Holodomor, which tells you Russia doesn’t see Ukrainians as Russians. And Russia signed an agreement in 1994 to “defend Ukraine ‘s territorial integrity”, including Crimea and the Donbass.

Also, Jillian, what’s your stance on NATO? Are we in or out? So we defend Estonia? Finland? Just curious either way.

I wish Ayaan would directly address some of Sam Harris’s TDS.

I’m hoping that I greatly overestimate his influence. But a direct balancing of his rhetoric from Ayaan would be so welcome.

“Heather Mac Donald gets it right. Blaming the victim is not the takeaway. Unethical journalists are the real culprits.” I agree with this statement wholeheartedly. I believe unethical journalism really is undoing our country. Years ago, when I was in high school, we had a school paper that had a section where the writers took on an issue and one wrote for one side and the other wrote for the other side. In the same paper. It was a great mental exercise and served more than one useful purpose, for sure.

I agree that we getb so tired that we just learn to "live with it" Watching the horros in the Middle East In Myanmar and other hot spots in the East and of cousr so many in Africa. But two assasination attempts in a few months.. Yes the question is, what really is driving youth, in PA as well as an older liberal man to act ? rather than complain loudly or not at all and just sit back adn seethe..as many do so that all agree about one thing " we the people " have been angry upset polarized and traumatized snd terrorized for a LONG time now 1990's homegrown terrorists Timothy Mc Veigh and Twin Towers facfade coming down 13 stories.. tha followed by Sept 11 and one plady interviewed on TV saying

"Do they ? are there people out there - who hate us so much - Why ? "
